Tony made his first recording at 16 years of age, with Don Burrows, John Sangster and Bob Barnard. He has appeared at most of Australia’s jazz festivals and jazz festivals in Europe and the UK, accompanied visiting jazz and show-biz stars from overseas, won ‘best guitarist’ polls, Formed Australia’s first 5 guitar big band ‘Interplay’, led his own bands and worked as musical director on cruise ships. Tony has a diverse range of albums to his name (40 and counting) ranging from jazz to blues, rock and classical, and has played with a wide range of artists including The Australian Chamber Orchestra, The BBC Concert Orchestra, The Ronnie Scott’s jazz orchestra, Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Earl Hines, Nat Adderley, Nancy Wilson, Dave Liebman, Keely Smith, Buddy Greco, John Hendricks, Howard Alden, Barry Humphries , Dan Barrett, John Sangster, Cliff Richard, Louis Stewart, Diz Disley, Georgie Fame, Kevin Spacey, Steve Winwood, The Inkspots, Ronnie Corbett, Clare Teal, Rufus Reid, Jim Mullen, Curtis Stigers, Stephen Bennett, Muriel Anderson, James Pearson, Pete Long, Don Burrows, James Morrison, Rob Brydon, Billy Field, Jacqui Dankworth, Claire Martin, Scarlet Strallen, Peter Grant, Marti Pellow, Tony Hadley, John Colianni, Monica Mancini, as well as touring Europe with the original West End Rat pack show, and was the resident guitarist in the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra for 8 years, as well as leading his own bands . He has also composed for and appeared in television and stage shows.Now based in the UK, Tony performs regularly at Ronnie Scott’s and other top London jazz venues. Tony has recently formed the International Jazz Collective featuring top musicians from all over the world. Tony was one of the winners of the International song Competition 2013 with his song “Bunyips”.
Tony is currently working on an album of his own material played on his custom made 21 string HARP GUITAR!
As well as performing all over the UK and Australia, he has also performed in the USA, Canada, Italy, Belgium, France, Singapore, Germany, Turkey, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, New Zealand, Holland, United Arab Emirates, Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, New Guinea, Australia, England, Greece, and even tiny Samurai island (New Guinea) Amongst others.
